Time flies during hibernation time!
Well, would you look at that? It’s December! I’ve been so busy tagging along with OPA students that I have forgotten to talk to you guys! I will fill you in on all that you have missed.
The weekend before Thanksgiving, two of our Allenato students competed in YAGP in Oklahoma City! I wasn’t able to watch their performances but I heard that they were a huge success! They had been working on their pieces for a long time, specifically on their technique and precision. It’s a good thing Thanksgiving was only a few days after their successful weekend! I’m sure they were ready to eat plenty! I know I was, eating a few rolls here and there and tasting some cranberry jam.
But sadly, Thanksgiving came to a close and started the holiday season! Nevertheless, Allenato and all students at OPA love to perform holiday pieces for everyone. This past weekend, Allenato kids performed at Living Arts of Tulsa, Santa Project, St. Francis, and Arts Alliance, “Art in the Park.” I had a blast, since I’m pretty important when it comes to connecting with eager children. I honestly don’t know what the studio would do without me. This weekend we finished two more performances, one of them being TU! This is our big holiday show where Allenato kids and Open students are able to perform for an audience on stage. We do a few pieces from the Nutcracker and from familiar holiday songs to show OPA’s seasonal spirit!
I was there, center stage! I saw all of the magic come to life! This performance is definitely one that will be remembered. Well, only three more Allenato holiday shows left!
