Week 4 Begins!

     Hello, my devoted readers! I hope your summer is going superbly! So far, my summer has been greeting those who walk in the doors of OPA. I’m very happy to see the familiar faces along with new faces each week. Even though I am a bear with few emotional attachments to humans, it’s very heartwarming to see all students growing and learning throughout the summer in the arts.    

     It is already week 4 of summer classes at OPA. The students are continuing to dance strong and work diligently on their singing and acting! This week, the kids will be learning about etiquette. I can only imagine how one might approach this subject at a performing arts school. From sitting in the theater to waiting backstage for your cue, the rules and safety measures are super important. As an intelligent bear, I fully understand the importance of safety, especially when it comes to bears and what they eat. It took me a while to realize why I had to abide by the rule “No Ice Cream,” and then I found out it was for my own safety. I don’t believe this is quite what will be talked about this week, but I’m sure it will be somewhere along the lines.

     Speaking of safety, this week is National Lightning Safety Awareness Week. My fur stands up every time I see those streaks form across the sky. I’m not very fond of what you people call “Tornado Season.” On a good note, Sunday is a national holiday recognizing dads and father figures in our lives. Yes, you guessed right, Father’s Day! Not only can we celebrate fathers this week, but also enjoy some of the world’s beauties. Days such as National Seashell Day, World Music Day, Forgiveness Day, and the Summer Solstice are a few examples!

     I have to admit, this week seems like one filled with much to be grateful for! I hope everyone takes the time this week to remember the beauty of the summer, even though it may be scorching hot or filling up with water! But until next time, my lovely readers!
